CRK Clinical Research Key NGO is a Leading Clinical Research NGO NGO in Kenya and Africa
CRK-NGO is a healthcare NGO in Kenya dedicated to improving health outcomes for underserved communities. We are based at St. Mary’s Mission Hospital in Nairobi, next to Kibera, Africa’s largest slum. This location places us at the frontline of healthcare inequities. It also allows us to connect research, training, and healthcare delivery directly to those who need it most.
We focus on cardiovascular research, NCD studies, capacity building for healthcare professionals, and life-saving interventions for children with heart disease.
Our work bridges science and service. Moreover, we ensure that research findings translate into practical solutions for families across Kenya. As a result, communities gain better access to care and stronger health systems.

Our Services
Clinical Research
At CRK-NGO, we lead impactful clinical research in Kenya that addresses critical health issues in underserved communities. We focus on cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to bridge health gaps and improve outcomes across the country. Moreover, our work empowers public health systems with practical, locally grounded solutions.
Capacity Building
At CRK-NGO, we lead healthcare capacity building in Kenya to strengthen frontline systems and improve patient outcomes. By equipping doctors, nurses, and health workers with the right skills and tools, we address the growing challenges of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially in underserved regions. Our capacity building programs are accessible through our digital platform: crkcourses.com.
Research Site
CliniQuest Research Site, located inside St. Mary’s Mission Hospital in Nairobi, is a dedicated hub for high-quality, ethical, and community-centered clinical trials in Kenya. Positioned at the edge of Kibera, Africa’s largest informal settlement, CliniQuest bridges world-class research with real-world patient needs, ensuring that scientific discovery translates into healthier lives.
Saving Children’s Hearts
At CRK-NGO, we believe every child deserves the chance to live a healthy life. Unfortunately, many children in Kenya are born with or develop serious heart conditions that cannot be treated locally due to limited surgical facilities, high costs, and lack of specialized expertise. That is why we coordinate children’s heart surgery in Kenya through our partnership with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Enfant du Monde. Moreover, this program brings hope to families who cannot access or afford advanced cardiac surgery, offering children a true second chance at life.
Medical Campaigns
At CRK-NGO, we believe access to healthcare is a right, not a privilege. That’s why we organize medical campaigns in Kenya, reaching underserved populations in Nairobi slums such as Kibera, Mathare, and Dandora. Moreover, we extend these services to rural Maasai villages in Kajiado, ensuring that no community is left behind. These outreach campaigns bring doctors, nurses, and medicines directly to people who would otherwise go without care. As a result, thousands of families gain life-saving access to health services.
Community Engagement
At CRK-NGO, we believe sustainable healthcare begins with strong, informed, and empowered communities. That’s why community health engagement in Kenya is central to everything we do. Our programs actively involve patients, families, community health volunteers (CHVs), and local leaders in designing, delivering, and evaluating healthcare initiatives. This approach ensures that interventions are not only evidence-based but also accepted, trusted, and impactful. Moreover, by empowering communities directly, our work achieves long-term sustainability.
Quality Improvement
At CRK-NGO, we believe that every patient, regardless of location or income, deserves safe, effective, and consistent healthcare. That’s why we champion healthcare quality improvement in Kenya as a cornerstone of our work. From clinical audits to mentoring healthcare workers, we implement systems that reduce preventable harm, standardize care, and enhance performance at the facility level. Whether it’s a rural health center or a county hospital, we support frontline providers in building sustainable, high-impact improvements. That is why we coordinate children’s heart surgery in Kenya through our partnership with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Enfant du Monde.
Knowledge Sharing
Transforming Health Systems Through Healthcare Knowledge Sharing in Kenya At CRK-NGO, we believe that knowledge is power. That is why healthcare knowledge sharing in Kenya is at the heart of our mission. By making research results, training insights, and clinical best practices widely available, we empower frontline healthcare workers and policymakers to improve patient care. Moreover, by translating research into action, we consistently bridge the gap between science and service. These outreach campaigns bring doctors, nurses, and medicines directly to people who would otherwise go without care. As a result, thousands of families gain life-saving access to health services.
